Mobile Water Treatment

Pellows operate the only on-site KSA dewatering plant in Cornwall. KSA translated means combined sludge tanker and on-site dewatering. The principle behind the KSA system is "volume reduction".

Realising that the average tanker load of sludge contained a high percentage of water, which was needlessly being transported for disposal at the local waste water treatment works.

The advantages of this system are:

  • Lower disposal costs
  • Lower environmental impact

This system will treat any liquid waste from sewage, food waste, oil, concrete waste, canal waste, ponds, leachate and many more possibilities.

The Process of dewatering waste

The KSA operates by sucking up the waste material and using a bonding agent, it clumps all the solids together. Then the material is filtered to separate the solids from the water. The water is collected in tanks which can then be used to recharge treatment plants and oil interceptors. It can also be used for high pressure jetting at the same time.

What the KSA means for you

The KSA will reduce time as it can stay on site for longer and get the job done. It will also save money on disposal as with any liquid waste disposal this is one of the biggest cost factors. If your soak-away is working we can put all the treated water back into the system, so we leave with only the solids. Depending on how thick the load is, we can save up-to 85% of the disposal costs.

What we do with the wasteThe waste can be dealt with in a number of ways. For example, when it has been treated it will become a dry waste compound which can be spread onto landfill. This offers substantial savings over traditional liquid waste disposal.
